Although the Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa holidays were wonderfully celebrated, at one of the holiday parties we met a couple who are “empty nesters.” They told us about their family’s tradition of traveling with the children every year during the winter holiday school vacation. Often they went to family dispersed in exotic places such as Paris, France and San Francisco, California. But every few years they would choose a place with no family inhabitants and travel there to explore and spend the holiday.
Food for thought! We have always spent our holidays with family. Either they come to us or we go to them. Perhaps next year we will travel, just the six of us, somewhere exotic, educational, and exciting!
Let’s hear from you about your family travels!
