Oh mismatched bridesmaid dress how I love you.

That may seem a tad dramatic, but seriously I love the idea. So I bet it won’t be a surprise when if I say that my bridesmaids will be dressed in mismatched frocks on my upcoming wedding day. All your friends are all so unique, so it only makes sense they would all like a different style or colored dress based on their tastes or body types.

This mismatched bridesmaid dress idea is not a new or fleeting trend either. In fact, in 2006 my sister had mismatched bridesmaids and it looked amazing. I’m pretty sure mismatched bridesmaids are here to stay!

If you are considering this fun trend for your own wedding and you are having a hard time pulling all the looks together, it can be really easy! Just remember to have one unifying element between the varying designs. For instance, all different shades of one color or all the same length, whether short or long. Next thing you know, it will all fall together.

So with that, I leave you with some gorgeous inspiration shots of mismatched bridesmaids for you and your wedding party to work with.

  1. I did this with my wedding in 2006. I picked the color and let them pick what ever style they wanted. Love it!
