How sweet is this country wedding?!? Joanie and Chuck were married in Washington, Pennsylvania and personalized their wedding to every last detail: from the bride’s beautiful ivory gown to her fun loving charm, the beautiful church and the rustic appeal of the couple’s family farm. I love the old timey shot of Joanie and Chuck with their tractors! You just know this pair will have a long and lasting love! Congratulations to the beautiful couple!

Bride & Groom: Joanie & Chuck
Location: Washington, Pennsylvania
Memorable aspect: For me, getting to know Joanie and Chuck was an invaluable experience. We still communicate on a regular basis, which always makes me smile. The most memorable aspect of this shoot for me was when they were pronounced husband and wife; they both appeared to be floating down the aisle! The entire night Joanie and Chuck couldn’t stop smiling, which also made my job super easy!
Style: My greatest inspiration for photography is Jazz. I have been a musician all my life, and have worked as a professional jazz musician for several years, which is what got me into photography. I feel that photography for me is an extension of the auditory art form of jazz. In jazz, I study theory, techniques, my instruments, and listen to the artists who inspire me. I then am presented with a situation (song) in which I need to improvise a solo. I use my tools, knowledge and experience as a foundation to use all of my creativity and emotion to fabricate a solo within the style of the song. I feel photography is exactly the same as jazz, only with visual elements. In photography I study the same things; theory, techniques, instruments (equipment), and other artists who inspire me. I use these tools with my knowledge and experience as a foundation to release my photographic creativity within the style of the event I am shooting. Photography and jazz are equal passions in my life, and I cannot imagine a world without either art forms.
Inspiration: Getting to know Joanie and Chuck was a great experience. During our communications before their wedding it was very apparent to me that Chuck was possibly the happiest groom to be that I have ever met! He was thrilled that he was going to have the wife of his dreams, the wedding would be in a beautiful church, and the reception would be in a fantastic hotel. As I got to know Joanie and Chuck I also found out they work in the farm industry, and were very proud of their accomplishments. I knew that I wanted to blend the elegant wedding theme with their home roots, and Joanie was interested in a trash the dress session, so we planned one for after the wedding and used their farmland for the location. Joanie and Chuck were both thrilled with the results!
