A summer trip to Colorado with children who are old enough to experience white-water rafting can alter a high school student’s goals drastically. That is what happened to us when we took Mountain Whitewater Descents’ Full-Day Mishawaka rafting trip. Our daughter who enters high school in August has decided she is going to Colorado for her university studies and that she will become a white-water rafting guide and/or Park Ranger. Our trip with our guide, Ben, happened when the Cache La Poudre River was high, about four feet. The normally rated 4 rapids were especially exciting. Not falling in or tipping over and being a great team of paddlers in our raft with our leader made our experience exhilarating but safe. Ben positioned us perfectly in the raft to assure maximum security and the best ride for everyone! Mother Nature gave us a perfect day of sun, a brief thunder and lightening storm, and enough cloud cover so no one burned.
I highly recommend white-water rafting with Mountain Whitewater Descents because they have excellent equipment, helmets with ear coverings, the rafts have toe-holds, and most of all they respect the protocol of river rafting safety as well as model stewardship of the river and land on either side! In addition, the provided picnic lunch was copious, delicious, and graciously served.
I decided for team building and celebration, Storkie‘s staff and owners will plan a white-water rafting adventure for everyone for next May!
