Where we live, many people practice the custom of studying for and then celebrating a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Many of the children begin their religious studies in preschool with some area preschools providing an introduction to the traditions of Judaism as well as an excellent preschool curriculum.
Our daughter, the one in sixth grade, has begun to receive invitations to some of her girlfriends’ Bat Mitzvahs who turn 12 this year! We required our older two children to attend the religious service where their friends participate and we expect this daughter to attend as well. We often went with the older children and enjoyed the service and luncheons in the synagogues very much. We look forward to the same time spent with this daughter too.
So, double-header this year as far as needed clothes for our daughter the freshman in high school attending multiple Quinceanera Parties and our sixth grader needing outfits for the Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations beginning this year! Luckily, our older daughter’s dressy clothes from her years of Bar and Bat Mitzvah attendance have been saved. Hopefully, our youngest daughter will love the ensembles and be content with a few new items and new shoes!
