After many years of marriage, it’s just as important to get-away with friends as it is before the wedding day. So, I am proposing a new custom that for every ten years of marriage, the anniversary celebrants, both the wife and husband, take a short vacation with their respective gender of friends.
When it’s my turn, I want to go to the Grand Canyon and go white-water rafting for about four days. Then, to recuperate, I want to check into a hotel in Nevada that has a spa. I subscribe to Conde Nast Traveler and I know that the May 2009 issue has a description of the best new spa locations and their amenities. Online are thirty additional temptations, so be sure to go to Conde Nast Traveler’s website.
Now that I have decided on what I want to do with my girlfriends, I just have to find the money and the time, convince my friends that they must come away with me, and make the reservations and pack my bags.
If you think this is a good idea, respond to my blog with your suggestions and dream ideas for a get-away a decade, two or three, after the wedding!
