I recently ran across information about this awesome San Francisco-based organization, Loved Twice. Their mission is to deliver gently used and new baby clothes to underprivileged newborns upon leaving the hospital. The clothes donated to this 501c3 organization are distributed through a network of qualified social service partners. Many of the children they help would otherwise leave the hospital and go directly to a shelter with only the hospital blanket.
Loved Twice was formed in 2005 by Lisa Klein, who became motivated to help the families devastated by the destruction after Katrina. She began by collecting clothes from neighbors and friends, and sending them to a church in Louisiana to help the families who lost all of their clothes and belongings.
Loved Twice has several drop-off locations within the Bay area but they also accept packages shipped to them here:

Don’t have any baby clothes but still want to help?
