The longer a couple is married, the more important it is to celebrate. Looking at marital statistics with the gloomy two out of three marriages that end in divorce, bolsters my philosophy of celebration even more! So, how can we celebrate the anniversary of our marriages?
For our twenty-fifth, my parents came to us and insisted upon planning a wedding-like celebration. I was not only deeply moved by their offer, but I enjoyed the party as much as our wedding. We cannot acknowledge each anniversary in the same manner we feted the 25th! But, we can schedule an intimate party for two or a dinner party with close family and friends.
Whatever you decide to do to commemorate your wedding anniversary, make it meaningful to you as a couple and something your children will remember about “Mom and Dad’s love!”
